Wevolver Wins the SXSW Innovation Award in Texas

We’re super happy to announce that last night, Wevolver won the Interactive Innovation Award at SXSW in the category 3-DIY!

Last week, Bram and I travelled off to Austin to visit the SXSW event. South by Southwest (SXSW) is an annual set of film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987 and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year.

Wevolver got nominated in the Interactive part, which is focused on emerging technology. According to a festival organiser Louis Black, SXSW Interactive “has probably been the biggest of its kind in the world”

Needless to say, we’re super excited and humbled to win this price, which would not have been possible without the great people working on Wevolver every day, making and improving the most amazing technologies!

It also gave us the opportunity to catch up with some great people like the team from Ultimaker US, RE:3D, 3DHUBS and Local Motors, We also travelled off to Round Rock, Texas to meet the local Techshop (maker space) where we’re treated to a great Taco Breakfast by Casey!

Today we’re flying to Phoenix, Arizona where we’ll visit Local Motors HQ. From there we’ll take the car and drive to San Francisco where we’ll stay for 5 weeks. During our trip, we’ll have stopovers in different cities to meet more makers on the way. If you like to stay in touch, feel free to follow us on our social media where we’ll share pics and videos!

Lastly, we’re super excited to announce that we had a big reboot of the Wevolver platform. Running up to the SXSW event our developers in Amsterdam have been working hard on a cleaner interface and better navigation in projects!
